Dark Chestnut Kangaroo Romal Reins
Dark Chestnut Kangaroo Romal Reins Dark Chestnut kangaroo leather romal reins with long buttons and barrel knots which have a dark kangaroo interweave. Buttons are separated by loads of Spanish ring knots. Popper is heavy, dark latigo leather. Romal has a long loop instead of a traditional button connector, and fits nicely in your hand. The kangaroo leather was cut into widths of 1/8" and soaked in a white fuel and paraffin solution which saturates the leather, giving it even more strength plus making it water resistant. The strings, when dry, are then beveled all four sides. The feel is like you are holding a snake. Very nice! The color is very dark chestnut (almost brown). It has a great vintage look patina. Romal is slightly darker than the reins although they were cut from the same hide. Reins - 12-plait - 48" from center - 3/8" diameter. Romal - 16-plait - 48" not including the 6" connector loop - just under 1/2" diameter.
