A Guide to the Sierras Best Riding Trails

Helpful Hints
HH#6 - Two friends were just recently in a bad horse accident.  One horse hit a piece of wire and went ballistic.  The rider is in the hospital with numerous injuries.  She will be ok, but recuperation will take months.  The other rider had to secure the horses and go for help.  She stressed the importance of 3 things.  #1 - Helmet!  #2 - lead rope to tie the horses & #3 -  boots that you can comfortably walk out of a situation in.  She had to run a mile before reaching help.
HH#5 - If you do get a mild case of poison oak, Zanfel will actually get rid of it.  It is over the counter, but expensive.  Follow directions.  It does work! - AB

HH#4 - To get poison oak and mosquito bites to stop itching, run affected area under the hottest water you can stand.  They won't itch for hours - Lynda H.

HH#3 - Double check your trailer hitch before driving back home.  This cannot be stressed enough.  Anyone can tamper with your rig while you are out on the trail.  (Rick - Mariposa)
HH#2 -  Deep condition your hair while riding.  Lather a thick conditioner through your hair or ponytail and pull back into a bun.  Cover your head with a ball cap or helmet.

HH#1 - Neetsfoot Oil - Pour into a plastic container and keep in the refrigerator.  Store a sponge along with it.  The Neetsfoot oil  will be the consistency of shortening and melt when used.  No more oily messes to deal with.
